Your iPhone and Apple Watch are about to get a makeover iOS 16 and watchOS 9 update will be released on September 12

New Delhi. Apple is preparing to roll out the iOS 16 update for its iPhone on September 12. At the same time, the next watchOS update will also be launched on the same date. The new software for Apple’s iPhone series comes with a slew of new features, some of which you may have heard about over the past few weeks as these features were part of the iOS 16 beta. These include a new lock screen, improved focus mode, and other changes. Here we are talking about iOS 16 and watchOS 9.

What’s new in Apple iOS 16
Message Service: Apple now lets you edit or cancel messages that have already been sent through iMessage. Users have 15 minutes to edit the sent message or delete it completely. Recently deleted messages can also be recovered for 30 days, and users can mark open conversations as unread.

New Maps app: Apple has also made several changes to the Maps app, which now displays several metrics including speed, vehicle temperature, and other details. Now you can add as many stops to your route as you can with Google Maps and also check public transport fares. Apple Maps is also getting new 3D-like visuals and better integration with CarPlay.

New lock screen:
Apple’s redesigned lock screen supports widgets, customizable fonts, and a new expanded view for notifications that shows you more information right from the lock screen. With support for live activity on the lock screen, users can also check scores and track food delivery from their lock screen.

Apple Pay later: A credit service, Apple Pay Later allows iOS 16 users to split charges for Apple Pay purchases into 4 payments at no additional cost. These payments can be paid again in one go.

Other Features: Apple iOS 16 comes equipped with Live Captions, Live Text Quick Actions, and a new iCloud Shared Photo Library feature that allows users to easily share photos with their family, just by clicking on the shared photo. Apple watchOS 9: features and supported devices
Apple also announced watchOS 9 which brings new changes to fitness tracking features and adds more metrics for things like heart rate speed and height data. There is also support for multi-sport activities and Fitness Plus. Apple’s subscription exercise app is also getting new changes to support activities like rowing, treadmill workouts and cycling.

The Health app on Apple Watches now also supports adding medications. Sleep tracking now gives you a comparison chart to give you more information. Other changes include more customization options and a new watch face. Apple watchOS 9 will support Apple Watch Series 4 and later. You will need at least an iPhone 8 to work on iOS 16 to use it.
